Kapoot (A Conversation Toward the End of Life)

By Rebecca G K vErdè

Transported,
Transposed,
Transfixed!

I knew I was dieing when they lowered the shroud.
At once I was transported
beyond space,
beyond time,
beyond beyond …

faster than a speeding pellet of light,
to a place no words describe ..

and He said to me,
Well done, you good and faithful servant.
Enter into my rest.
Sit down.

But Adonai I didn’t do /_anything_/ for You.
I never /_knew_/ you,
said I!

But I knew you,
said He.
I was there when you comforted the sailor’s beloved.
I saw you when you taught your young Comrade’s children to walk and run again.
Sit down.
Enter into my rest.

Transported,
Transposed,
Transfixed.
